Description: Pong was one of the first arcade video games. It was created by Allan Alcorn as a training exercise. The game that features a simple two-dimensional graphics simulating table tennis was released by Atari, Inc. in 1972 and was the first commercially successful arcade game.
Pong was the first video game developed and released by Atari, Inc. that was established in the same year (1972). Nolan Bushnell, one of the founders of the company asked Allan Alcorn to create a simple game that features a single moving dot, two paddles and digit numbers for score display and that is how Pong was developed.
The objective of Pong is virtually the same as in table tennis. The player that controls the paddle by moving it vertically must not miss the ball which is actually a small dot. The game can be played against another player that controls the paddle on the second half of the screen or against a computer controlled opponent.
The winner of the game is the player that achieves more points which are displayed on the top of the screen. Points are achieved when the opponent fails to return the ball. Despite its extraordinary simplicity and black-and-white raster graphics, Pong is still fun to play although it is not as easy as it seems.
